The Goff Orthodontics family believes everyone deserves a smile they love, including children ages seven and older.

Early Orthodontics

Our goal with early orthodontic treatment is to set the foundation for a lifetime of healthy, confident smiles. We’ll partner with you to create a treatment plan focused on personalized care for your child’s unique smile.

What Is Early Orthodontic Treatment and How Does It Work?

Early orthodontic treatment, also known as phase 1 or interceptive treatment, is a proactive approach to addressing orthodontic concerns in children. These concerns can include bite issues, spacing problems, speech difficulties, and more.

According to the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), all children should have an initial orthodontic evaluation by age seven. Seeing an orthodontist at an early age can prevent the need for more costly and extensive treatment later in life.

Interceptive Orthodontic Treatments Available at Goff Orthodontics

We offer two orthodontic options tailored to meet the needs of young patients. Our doctors designed these options to address early orthodontic concerns efficiently and comfortably while ensuring you maintain flexibility in your child’s care.

What if My Child Doesn’t Need Phase 1 Orthodontic Treatment?

Orthodontics in Brevard County

We prioritize doing what is best for every patient by only prescribing phase 1 treatment when absolutely necessary. If your child does not need interceptive treatment, we can monitor their teeth and jaws periodically as they develop in case complications arise. However, if the benefits to your child are clear, or if you are concerned with protecting their self-confidence, we will recommend several treatment options attuned to you and your child’s lifestyle.
